Painting by Chagall-The Weepies

Im feeling down
Im playing this song
I stare into nothingness
Wondering of im not-sure-ofs

Today's story

There must be something with the hijab i wore today for there were 3 women who greeted me:

1.One when i was about to cross the road to the bus station. It was an old babushka(grandma) of not less than 75 y.o.She asked me to hold her hand and help her cross the road.

2.A normal aunty with a straw hat at the bus stop who  found me nice(her eyes told me that) and initiated a conversation with me.

3.Another aunty but a little bit older than the former one.She sat next to me inside the bus.She asked if i could lend her a pen, which i gladly said yes to.

Usually no one really cares or pay special attention to me except for the usual inquiring stares and interested looks i get.So i assumed it must be the colour of my hijab. It was bright red.Bright DARK red.

In a way i feel special.....but what really sets me into thinking was when the grandma chose me out among the crowd. Why me?Why put your trust in me when u dont even know who i am? I could have hurt you or bomb u or anything.

In the end i couldnt help but admire Allah for this.It makes me think that:

People(especially the aged ones) who after years  and years of living and totally clueless about Islam finds comfort in it when they see it eventhough it was just a tiny part of it.Eventhough it's just a normal girl with hijab which they found on the street. Why?That's because :

Islam is a religion for all mankind. Surah Al-Anbiya verse 107:

We sent thee(Muhammad) not but as a mercy for all creatures.

They must have found solace in it.

Picnic at The Volga

Yesterday i went for a picnic with friends from fourth year.It was really great despite the heat.

We took a boat at the jetty. The journey was around 20 minutes. After that guess what?It took us just to the other side of the river.I can see Evropa Mall and if i search carefully i can even see my hostel! Hahaha
But it was enjoyable though...

Waiting at the jetty for another 3 friends who were in charged of lemonade. They were late and and there was no lemonade.

On the boat.Yay!!

View from the other side of Volga

We reached and looking further for a spot to settle down

This kinda ship will come about every 40 minutes and the swimmers will get so excited each time coz it's movements created waves for them.Volga doesn't have waves obviously coz it is not a sea.It is a river. The longest in Europe

After A While

About a decade ago i found this poem among one of Kak Sham's collection.

After a while
u learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't always mean security.

And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't always promises
and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead with the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child.

And you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain
for plans and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.

After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

And you learn that you really can endure, that you really are strong and you really do have worth and you learn and you learn
with every good-bye you learn

Opinions

Opinions exist due to beliefs. As long as a person has  principles of beliefs in something opinions will form. They'll pop out when dealing with certain subjects and issues. And since each one of us believe in different things thus it varies.

For me we need to listen if a person is stating out his/her opinion as a sign of respect, but not necessarily take it.Each one of us has the right to speak out what he/she thinks on certain issues. And i would like to emphasize that when it comes to opinions nothing is wrong and nothing is right.Different people see things differently. That's just it.

But what i dont understand is when someone works so hard to make people accept their thoughts, till it reaches infuriating point in me.I mean enough is enough.I listen to you because i respect your opinon. But im not obliged to accept them.Usually this kind of people will have opinions practically on everything ranging from the latest world issues to the smallest details;and that includes if the shape of the cloud looks like a german shepherd or a dalmation. And he/she will not be satisfied till u accept his/her opinion.Usually i dont get along with this kind of people on daily basis. For me they are good only when it comes to group studies or discussions. No it's not always like that.Sometimes they are totally useless but think they are above all else.

What im wondering now is:can someone NOT have an opinion on certain things? Does it make someone intelligent if he/she ALWAYS have opinions? Can he/she just let it be? After all things are not going to change just because of the way we think.Instead of saying this and that why dont we just enjoy it the way it is?

some people dream and say why not?"- anonymous

I HaTe My PrAcTiCaL..and RuSsIa In GeNeRaL

This is getting even more ridiculous. Can u believe that the uni actually makes us stay here for about a month for nothing??!! I just checked the timetable properly for the first time and guess what?my classes are just 4 days per week,2 HOURS each time. And with 162 people present at the same time what is the most that we can do?I could have been at home by this time and do 100 more enjoyable things than going to class just to look at each other's faces and complain how hot the weather is today.WHAT A PERFECT CRAP.

And another good news is that the visa's price has shooted up from about 300roubles to 1600roubles.Great isnt it?I realy pity those students who are about to start their life here in Russia.By the time they graduate im not surprise if the price increases to  3 000 roubles or even 4 000.

The reason most people choose Russia is because the tuition fees is cheap compared to Malaysia,UK,Indonesia,Egypt and India. But with the ever increasing price of everything i dont see anymore reason for anybody to come here.

And to be honest the system here is unorganized and time wasting.U see when i was in padfak(padgotovitelni fakultet-prep course) i learn all the basic subjects like biology, chemistry, maths and physics just to relearn them again during my first year. Can't they come up with something more medicine-oriented and non-repeating? But well just for self-consoling i told myself it will only strenghten my knowledge though i must admit it's not true.If i were to ask all those fifth year students im not sure they remember everything that they've learned in 1st year and that includes me....

And u know what's the funniest thing i've ever heard of? my junior in padfak told me that they have to sit for English exam.English as in English THE language.Let me tell u something, their English is 100 times better than those Russian teachers and they have to sit for English exam?LoL!It's just an excuse to make money. One paper cost 50dollars and there were about four papers.

The latest one was our prime lecture for the practicals.English and Russian medium students all gathered in one lecture. It was delivered in full Russian. The lecture was fast even for us.I can see them struggling to write down everything. Some couldnt catch up,decided to give up and simply chit-chatting all the way through. At the end of the day I guess the difference between us is just the price they pay. That's all.I dont see them getting any priorities.Even the GOST(Government Exams) will be carried out in Russian.

Russians are really good at parting u away from your money.

My advice?Dont come here if u have other choices
